HD Buttercup is looking for a Retail Operations Manager to join our team! The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for effectively managing local area store operations, inventory levels, safety standards and retail team culture. This role is key in driving the day-to-day success of our stores by providing leadership to store management, hiring and training effective teammates and fostering a culture of customer focused sales consultants. This position will report to the Director of Operations. This role requires a combination of operational discipline, savvy analytics, strategic thinking, strong execution and the interpersonal ability to work with teams from across the business.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities

·         Manage local store operations and ensure procedures are thorough and consistent (cash handling, processing returns, coordinating deliveries, etc.) and creating innovative and functional new practices to drive the stores forward

·         Responsible for ensuring the practices of opening, operating, and closing the store meet company guidelines; auditing processes regularly to ensure efficiency

·         Develop, train and motivate all retail teammates on the frontlines in the stores

·         Support a strong and motivated management team to help support store and customer needs

·         Partner with Accounting and Inventory control to help monitor store assets through accurate inventory management procedures

·         Partner with Warehouse team to ensure pickups, deliveries, and transfers are being monitored and handled efficiently and effectively

·         Maintain strong and trusted managerial presence through effective on the ground management and support for day-to-day operations

·         Proven ability to effectively think through complex issues and creatively problem solve

·         Demonstrates a positive attitude, honesty and integrity every day

·         Develop and retain a high-performing team with diversity of backgrounds and experience, collaborating with the store’s leadership to carry out HD's performance management processes

·         Provide 1:1 guidance to store teammates/managers

·         Support the testing and implementation of new roll outs and strategies, be a champion for change and improvement

·         Build processes and develop relationships: Partner with third party vendors and cross functional teams to achieve design standards and ensure we’re on track Execute: You’ll be responsible for a variety of day to day operations: You’ll help us get 1% better every day

·         High degree of accuracy, organizational and communication skills, detailed oriented and strong team player

Skills and Knowledge

·         5+ years of operations experience, furniture industry a plus

·         College graduate in Business Management

·         You're a team player and realize that success relies on your ability to build bridges and work cross functionally

·         Experience managing multiple units/regions a plus

·         4+ years of experience managing other salaried leaders

·         Extremely well-organized, methodical and efficient, detail-oriented

·         Strong leadership and communication skills both written and verbal

·         Experience working in a fast-paced environment and working well under pressure

·         Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the organization (including holidays, semi-annual sales, inventory, etc.)

·         Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects at the same time

·         Proactive worker that requires little guidance and hand-holding

·         Demonstrates a positive attitude, honesty and integrity every day

·         Creative and strategic problem-solver; resourceful and persistent

·         Ability to work well both independently and in a collaborative or team setting
